No-code conference app

In this post I explain why I built this conference app and how I built it with no-code.

I have been designing and polishing this conference app since last year. The idea originates from several conferences I have attended throughout these years, where I found many conferences still used a conventional paper-version programme. After the conference finished, most of these paper materials were thrown into trash bin.

See a relevant survey conducted by Kristina Mihajlović (@k_mihajlovic) about conference materials preferences:

This is not eco-friendly and could be avoided. With the help of a conference app, the issue will be solved. Therefore, I built this app based on Glide. With Glide, creating an app is not as difficult as you may imagine. Simply put all necessary information about the conference into Google Sheet, and that’s it!

A quick peek of this app

The app

The app url: https://cilc2019.glideapp.io

It is a Progressive Web App (PWA). So you can copy the link to your phone browser (preferably Chrome or Safari), then it will prompt you to add the app to your home screen. Easy peasy!

This is like an all-in-one app, which includes as many features as possible, such as interactive programme (where you can save any presentations that you want to attend), book of abstracts, accommodation reservation, registration booking, and more.

If conference organizers are interested, I would be very happy to help build similar conference apps. This demo can be reused for free!
